May 13

After our land luge (Scooterbahn) run in Germany, we arrived at our inn, Gutshof zum Schluxen. We had refreshments on the patio, including some incredible German beer. Some people did laundry, sent e-mail, played on the sea-saw, rode bikes, or just relaxed. Later, we had a wonderful dinner at the inn.

Our guides had picked up a huge bottle of beer, for all of us to sample. It was very good, there was enough for me to have a second glass.

May 14

We started off early and hiked from our hotel in Reutte to Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. As we were leaving the hotel, we watched the deer that they were raising there on the farm at the inn. Mike wondered if one of them might be his dinner, probably not, we suspect it was already processed and ready to be cooked. We had a beautiful hike over the ridge and around the lake. After Neuschwanstein Castle and Wieskirche Church, we returned to the inn by bus.

Tammy had white asparagus for dinner, with white asparagus soup, while Mike had some delicious venison. The food here was incredible, if not for all the walking that we have been doing, we would be gaining a lot of weight.

May 15

After a wonderful breakfast, we left Reutte on our bus and headed towards Venice. At the rest area Mike picked up a bottle of Neuschwanstein German lager. It was good, but not as good as the dünkles at our inn.
